About this item
A good example of a 1796 Light Cavalry officers sword, with the unusual variation of having square langets.
Stirrup D guard with slot for a sword knot, square langets and small "ears". The leather covering largely intact with some small losses showing the wooden core, below. Bound with single strands of silver coloured twistwire. Ferrule with line decoration.
This example with an unmarked, plain 33 inch single fullered curved fighting blade.
Housed in its original scabbard with twin hanging rings. The rings possibly old replacements, one of which has now split. Body of the scabbard in very good condition, no holes, splits or serious dents. An oveal makers panel with faint lettering, traces of which are still visible.
Cleaned condition overall. No movement between blade and hilt.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
