About this item
1821 Pattern Pipeback Cavalry Officers Sword.
An attractive and recently found example, with an even plum coloured patina to hilt and scabbard.
Regulation 1821 pattern three bar hilt, the grip bound with shagreen and twistwire in near perfect order.
Exceptionally clean 32 inch pipebacked blade, so possibly for a junior officer, or Cornet. This example maker marked at the ricasso "Tatham, 37 Charing Cross, London".
Brightly etched with a crown, with no monarchs cypher. Floral swags and decoration.
No movement between blade and hilt.
Housed in a steel scabbard with twin hanging rings.
It could be improved if desired, or left as it is, either way a lovely untouched example of an increasingly desirable sword.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
