    About this item

A lovely sword, belonging to an officer of field rank. The brass scabbard has unusually been covered in leather, probably for active service to prevent light reflection.

No maker to the blade, etched with typical mid Victorian faint etching. This blade will polish nicely, and appears quite dull at present. Not pitting or rust to be seen.

    Blade length 32.75 inches.

All shagreen and twistwire remains to the hilt, and the 1854 pattern guard bears traces of the original gilt, and is not misshapen.

All in all a very pleasing example, which would grace any collection.

    Strictly over 18's only.
