About this item
A recently discovered, early 1908 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword by Wilkinson of Pall Mall, regimentally marked to the 8th Hussars.
This Mk1 example with a broad arrow and inspection markings to the pommel and bowl guard, has with serrations for the buff leather washer (now absent) but not drilled for the washer pin.
Regulation 35 inch single fullered blade, which is dated 1912, along with various other inspection markings to both ricasso's, and the pattern designation"P'08" to the spine.
The regulation steel scabbard with twin fixed rings also carries various inspection markings, was manufctured by Mole, with a matching date of 1912.
In very much "as found" condition, the blade service sharpened, old grease, and light pitting. Original paint to the interior of the bowl guard, which has some dings and dents. The scabbard with various dings/dents and a slight bend, but it hasn't effected the blade, which is still straight. The pommel loose when "wiggled" but the guard and grip still tight. By no means a perfect example, but a good untouched WW1 cavalry sword with room for improvement.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
