About this item
An attributable Edward VII example, retailed by Hobson and Sons, 135 Lexington Street, London.
Sleepy condition, all the blade etching is legible, including the overlaid initials of the original owner. Being an Edward VII it should be relatively easy to track down and research the original owner. EVII crowned cypher, and the badge and latin motto of the RAMC. Dull grey overall, with some pitting towards the point.
The brass hilt in good shape with no deformation. Shagreen grip near 100% complete, bound with twistwire. Some staining from old polish.
A good entry level sword, which would improve with some careful TLC.
Not an easy pattern to find.
Blade length 32 inches.
Housed in its steel scabbard, with twin hanging rings.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
