A lovely and completely untouched Light or Flank Company officers sword, circa 1800.
At some point the grip has become weakened, and the top beak of the grip has broken, allowing the top of the knuckleguard to become loose. The swords pommel and faceted backpiece appears to be held together by a screw, rather than being peened, and it should be a relatively easy task to disasemeble repair and reconstruct. The price reflects the need for restoration.
Typical single fullered blade, measuring 30 inches in a straight line from tip to ricasso. The blade etched with typical Georgian floral sprays with stands of arms and triumphal regalia.
Housed in its original scabbard with twin hanging rings.
