About this item
A very good example of the three bar hilted Indian cavalry sword, badged to the 25th Cavalry.
The bowl guard carrying the numerals "25" within a capital "C" for the 25th Cavalry.
Manufactured by Mole of Birmingham, and marked by them on the blades ricasso. The spine bears the number "593" which may be the troopers number.
Shagreen grip bound with copper twistwire, some losses. No movement between blade and hilt.
Plain, single fullered 31.25 inch curved blade, which has been professionally sharpened in the Indian manner.
Housed in a thick brown leather scabbard. Stitching in good repair, signs of scuff and folds to the body, with some loss of leather towards the drag.
Some light pitting to hilt and blade.
Search code 10101 on this website for the pattern I suspect replaced this one, badged to the same regiment.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
