    About this item

    A mid 19thC Indian Artillery Sword'Sidearm.

This intriguing short sword with full width tang and chequered leather slab grips and D guard would appear to be of Indian manufature, and is likely for use as an artillery troopers sidearm. The guard bears native script. The grip appears to be inspired by the 1853 universal cavarly troopers sword.

The unfullered 26 inch blade with false edge extending for four inches at the point, some staining to the blade, and distortion to the point, which doesn't detract from this hefty piece.

The only such example I have encountered, and likely quite scarce.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
