Rare 19th Century African Congo Tribal Short Sword

Superb and rare example of a 19th Century African Congo tribal warrior’s short sword and scabbard.  Of high quality manufacture, with carved wooden grip and hammered brass studs to pommel.  Leaf-shaped blade of excellent forging with deeply incised decoration.  Complete with wooden, brass-studded scabbard – blade is slightly proud when placed in scabbard – have not pushed it in too hard – wood has probably shrunk a little over time.  One of the best African swords that I have seen in a long time.  Blade length is 13.5 inches (18 inches overall).
