    About this item

An untouched George V example, no longer an easy sword to find.

This sword purchased from the family, officers name to the buyer. He was allegedly seconded for service with the Gordon's, but this will need verifying and research.

The brass hilt is in excellent shape, maintaining most of its original gilt wash, and with no deformation. Shagreen grip is 100% complete, bound with twistwire. Complete with its original knot, which has been reattached with a small safety pin, it would be realitvely simple to effect a more aesthetically pleasing repair!

The blade etching is clear and legible, with the retailers etching of "W.S. Burns. Outfitter. Aberdeen." at the ricasso. Crowned George V cypher and the usual floral etching. Some dark staining overall, which should polish and improve with some gentle TLC. No pitting.

    Blade length 32.5 inches.

Housed in it's original brown leather field service scabbard.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
