About this item
An extremely rare sword, of a type I have not previously encountered.
The bowl guard carrying the numerals "25" within a capital "C" for the 25th Cavalry.
The guard also carries the impressed markings "LA 25".
Manufactured by Mole of Birmingham, and marked by them on the blades ricasso.
Plain, single fullered 34.75 inch blade, which has been professionally sharpened into a spear point, and along both back and front edges.
Housed in a leather scabbard with wooden core, with an iron double hanging ring. Stitching split, with some loss of the leather.
Untouched condition overall, in need of a thorough cleaning, and a replacement blade washer.
Strictly over 18's only.
