Original 1921 Pattern French Army Officers Trousers
An original pair of French Army 1921 Pattern officers' trousers dating from the inter-war period.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in the immediate post-war period and stayed in issue until 1931.
The trousers are made from a horizon blue coloured wool and feature a wide black stripe to each leg. The cut and materials used are typical of those used in the Great War and through to the 1930s meaning these could well date from the inter-war period. The deep waistband and exposed top fly buttons as well as the depth of the lining in the waist are typical of French military tailoring from this period. A cinch back belt and buckle is present to the rear which is another common feature of early trousers.
The trousers will fit someone of around a 36" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat they measures -
Waist - 18 1/2"
Rise - 14 1/2"
Rear rise - 22"
Inside leg - 30"
Outside leg - 42 1/2"
The trousers are in reasonable condition overall, especially considering that they are over 100 years old. They display well but do have a couple of holes to the rear and a stain which can be seen in the pictures. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that these are not a mint condition item.
A good pair of original trousers with some nice period details.
