About this item
An original pair of Royal Navy working trousers dating from the 1930s.
These trousers are typical of the inter-war period. Made from a white cotton drill they feature a high rise waist and very conservative 8 1/2" cuff to the leg. The fly fastens with buttons with more fitted around the waist to which braces can be attached. All the buttons are plated metal and feature the brand name 'Our Own Make' - a common button to find on British workwear of the period. Slash pockets are located to the hips and belt loops and a ticket pocket are fitted to the waist. The rear of the trousers features a cinchback belt and buckle which is indicative of work trousers made in the inter-war period.
The trousers will suit someone of around a 30" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 15 3/4"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 19"
Inside leg - 27 1/2"
Outside leg - 39 1/2"
Cuff - 8 1/2"
The trousers are in good condition for their age and are still very wearable with only limited signs of wear. There is some minor staining and a large stain to the seat as can be seen in the pictures. This is to be expected of a pair of white vintage work trousers but please take the time to study the pictures properly before purchasing.
All in all a nice pair of vintage workwear trousers with some great period details.
