About this item
An original pair of 1940s men's whipcord breeches in good condition.
These breeches are typical of the era featuring a high rise waist and voluminous cut to the thigh and breech. This style was worn by civilians as well as officer's in the British Army in both the Great War and the Second World War. The fly fastens with buttons and more buttons are positioned around the waist to which braces can be attached. Frog mouth pockets are located to the front and there is a single rear pocket present. The calves fasten with buttons which is an attribute often seen on many early examples.
The breeches will suit someone of around a 32" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 16"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 21"
Inside leg - 20"
Calf - 6"
Cuff - 5"
The breeches are in good condition with only limited signs of wear and use. There is some staining etc but they look to be very wearable none-the-less. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-owned pair of vintage breeches which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A nice pair of breeches in a classic colour and in good condition.
