An original pair of private purchase Khaki Drill Shorts dating from the 1940s and in good condition.
These shorts are typical of those manufactured in the 1940s. Made from a khaki coloured cotton drill the shorts feature a button fly, high rise waist, single rear pocket and side adjusters. The waistband and pocket bags are made from a contrasting cotton drill of a slightly darker shade.
The shorts will fit around a 32-33" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat the shorts measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"
Rise - 13 1/2"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 7 3/4"
Outside leg - 19 1/2"
Cuff - 15"
The shorts are in good condition for their age and display well. They are still very wearable with only limited signs of age and wear as shown in the pictures. The waist has been taken in with room to be let again if so desired. There are also a couple of small holes to the pocket bags.
A nice pair of original shorts with some great details.
