About this item
An original pair of WW2 Period British Army Jungle Green Trousers in good condition.
These original trousers are clearly theatre made, most likely in India and are typical of those worn during the Second World War and into the 1950s. They are quite possibly private purchase examples as they are devoid of any stamp or markings - although this is not uncommon with theatre made uniforms.
The trousers are made from a cotton drill material which has been dyed the standard Jungle Green shade used during the 1940s and 1950s. They feature a high rise waist, button fly and a typically 1940s wide leg which measures 11" at the cuff! This would point towards these trousers being wartime as leg widths narrowed after this. The trousers have had belt loops and side adjusters retro-fitted in a slightly contrasting shade of green.
The trousers will fit someone of around a 30" waist and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 15"
Rise - 15"
Rear rise - 17"
Inside leg - 31"
Cuff - 11"
The trousers are in good condition with some signs of wear and use. There is a short section of stitching which has come away along the front of the waistband and is detailed in the picutres. They have some staining and other small issues commensurate with age but overall display very.
A nice pair of original 1940s JG trousers with some great details!
