An original pair of navy blue coloured British military Physical Training shorts made in1942 by Conlowe.
Officially designated 'Shorts, Gymnasium', this pattern of shorts was very commonly seen as part of the physical training uniform of the British Forces during the Second World War. They are made from a navy blue cotton, feature an elasticated waist and a white label to the interior. The label states the size as 3 which is designed to fit a 34" waist. The maker's name of 'Conlowe Ltd' is present as is the 1942 date and the War Department broad arrow marking.
The waist is elasticated meaning they will fit a number of waist sizes from 22" - 32".
The condition of the shorts is good as can be seen in the photographs. They have a few small signs of age but overall display well.
Altogether a good pair of original WW2 period PT shorts with a good, clear and early date.
