About this item
An original pair of 1943 dated British army camouflage windproof trousers in a size 3 and in good condition.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in 1943 and was based on the earlier drab and snow windproof trousers. These examples are made from the rarer, heavier weight fabric and are cut in the same style as the earlier windproofs with a wide leg, drawstring waist and map pocket to the left leg. The seat features a reinforced section and ankle tabs are located to the cuff which fasten with green vegetable ivory (plastic) buttons.
To the rear of the trousers the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the title 'Trousers, Windproof, Camouflaged' and the size of 3. The manufacturer's name 'John Gordon & Co is present as is the date of December 1943 and the War Department broad arrow marking.
The trousers are in good condition overall with limited signs of wear and use. Overall they display well and are very wearable.
A nice original pair of windproof trousers in the harder to find material and with a nice early date.
