    About this item

An original pair of private purchase 1950 pattern khaki drill shorts which were made in the 1950s.

This pattern of shorts came into issue with British forces at the end of the Second World War but the official pattern came into issue a couple of years later. They saw service for a number of years with the British Army and RAF. This style with the cross belt fastening is now often referred to as 'Gurkha Shorts'.

The shorts come complete with their original chrome plate buckles. These are removable for washing purposes and are often missing from shorts and trousers offered on the market today. The fly of the shorts fastens with plastic buttons and there are angled slash pockets to each hip.

The shorts will suit a 29" waist and when laid flat they measure -

    Waist - 14 3/4"
    Rise - 15"
    Rear rise - 17
    Inside leg - 8 1/2"
    Outside leg - 21"
    Cuff - 13"

The shorts are in good wearable condition with some signs of wear and age. They have been starched giving them a stiff feel and there are marks from ironing etc. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.

A good pair of post-war shorts in a sought after style.
