Original 1950s Italian Army M1929 Camouflage Converted Trousers
An original pair of Italian Army M1929 Camouflage trousers dating from the 1950s and in good condition.
The M29 Telo Mimetico camouflaged was introduced prior to the Second World War and was used throughout the conflict. It stayed in use well into the post-war years and is now a classic camouflage pattern.
These trousers most likely date from the 1960s. They are made from cotton which has the green, brown and khaki coloured camouflage pattern printed to the exterior. They feature a wide leg which is typical of the 1940s and 1950s as well as a button fly, belt loops to the waist and waist adjusters. The original owner has modified the trousers moving the reinforcement patches from the knees to the front to create patch packets. The two side cargo pockets have also been moved to the rear of the trousers which is another interesting modification.
The trousers will suit someone of around a 36" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 18 1/2"
Rise - 13 3/4"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 27"
Outside leg - 39"
Cuff - 10 1/2"
The trousers are in reasonably good condition for their age but do have various signs of wear and use. There is a repair to the crotch as shown in picture 5 although this is not particularly noticeable when worn. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that these are a pre-worn pair of vintage military trousers which have small issues commensurate with age.
A nice original pair of trousers with some great modifications!
