About this item
An original pair of DPM Windproof trousers dating from the 1970s and featuring a cross belt closure.
Officially designated 'Trousers, Combat Camouflage Windproof' these trousers are made from cotton which has the DPM camouflage pattern screen printed onto it. The trousers feature a button fly and cross belt waist belts which were first introduced in the latter part of the Second World War and fasten with chrome plates, single prong buckles. The idea was that the waist could be adjusted if the wear lost weight whilst fighting in the jungle. This style is now often referred to as 'gurkha pants' or 'gurkha trousers'.
Inside the trousers the original label is still present which bears various details pertaining to size and washing instructions. When laid flat the trousers measure -
Waist - 14 1/4"
Rise - 14 1/2"
Inside leg - 32"
Outside leg - 45"
Cuff - 8 1/2"
The trousers are in good condition with some signs of wear, age and laundering. They are still very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A great pair of vintage military trousers with a fantastic waist belt detail!
