About this item
A scarce original pair of early theatre made British Army Khaki Drill Trousers in good condition
These trousers are of an early design and cut and most likely date from the inter-war period. Made from a tan coloured, lightweight cotton drill material; these trousers feature buttons and stitching typical of items made in India for the British Forces. The trousers are cut with a high rise waist and feature a flat front, narrow cuff, fishtail back and cinch belt to the rear - all of which are typical early traits. belt loops are positioned around the waist and the fly fastens with buttons. More buttons are situated around the top of the trousers to which braces can be attached.
The trousers are a generous size which should easily fit a 36-37" waist. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 18 3/4"
Rise - 14 3/4"
Rear rise - 21"
Inside leg - 32 1/4"
Outside leg - 45 1/2"
Cuff - 8 1/2"
The trousers are in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. They display well with some limited signs of wear and age. There is a hole to the rear of the waistband which appears to have been purposefully done, although for what reason I am not sure. There is also a very small hole near to the fly as detailed in picture 6. Overall the trousers are very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A nice pair of early trousers with some great details!
