    About this item

An original pair of Indian made British military shorts as worn by the British Army, RAF and others during the Second World War.

Like many Khaki Drill items, these shorts were made in India. Indian made items saw widespread issue in the Middle East, Far East and Italian campaigns due to shorter supply routes. They feature stamp steel buttons with a ridge to the buckle straps as are usually found on Indian made items. All the other buttons have been replaced with green plastic examples which are contemporary with the shorts.

The shorts have seen some modification. The waist appears to have been extended and the pocket bags have been removed. The first field dressing pocket also looks to have been refitted for some reason and the leg has been taken in to make it more narrow. These modifications have been reflected in the price.

The shorts will fit someone of around a 37" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -

    Waist - 18 3/4"
    Rise - 14"
    Rear rise - 17 1/2"
    Inside leg - 8"
    Outside leg - 20"
    Cuff - 14"

The shorts are in worn condition with some staining as can be seen in the pictures. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
