    About this item

An original 1942 Dated British Military Undershirt in unworn condition.

This pattern of undershirt was used by the British Army and RAF during the Second World War. It is a simple crew neck design which is pulled on over the head. It is made from an oatmeal coloured wool which is machine made. Inside the original label is still present and states the manufacturer's name as 'N. Corah & Sons Ltd'. The 1942 date is present as is the War Department broad arrow marking. The 'Warnorn' name which is found in many British made woolen goods from this period is also present as is the size of 4.

The top is a larger size which will fit around a 40" - 42" chest depending on desired fit. Because it is wool it stretches out and is designed to hug the wearer's body closely. When laid flat it measures -

    Chest - 20 1/2" (stretches to 23")
    Shoulders - 21"
    Length - 32"

The item is in good condition with no signs of previous wear or use. There are however various marks from storage which can be seen in the pictures, notably to the rear. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-owned vintage item which has small issues commensurate with age.

A good wearable original example with a clear wartime date.
