About this item
An original 1943 Dated British Military Undershirt in unworn condition.
This pattern of undershirt was used by the British Army and RAF during the Second World War. It is a simple crew neck design which is pulled on over the head. It is made from an oatmeal coloured wool which is machine made. To the bottom left front there is a stamp which states the size 36 as well as the words 'wool and cotton', along with the 1943 date.
The top is designed to fit around a 36" chest depending on desired fit. Because it is wool it stretches out and is designed to hug the wearer's body closely. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 19"
Shoulders - 2 1/2"
Length - 28"
The item is in good condition with no signs of previous wear or use. There are however various marks from storage which can be seen in the pictures, notably to the rear. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-owned vintage item which has small issues commensurate with age.
A good wearable original example with a clear wartime date.
