    About this item

An extremely rare and published example of a WW1 American made British Army Simplified Jacket for other ranks.

Featured on pages 12 and 13 of Campaign 1915 Volume 2, this Jacket is unissued and in excellent condition with just four small moth holes only and absolutely no wear.

The front is closed by 5 plain brass shanked buttons with two closure hooks at the neck. There are four flapped pockets, also with plain brass buttons. Brass belt support hooks are present and the only moth hole on the front of the Tunic would be completely obscured when displayed with a belt.

Inside are the remains of the maker’s label which is believed to be Kenyon and the New York Depot Stamp for A.V. Lutz. The lining strips and pocket bags are of unwashed cotton, this being the obvious difference from British made Tunics.

The Jacket is a good size and display well on a half mannequin with about a 36” breast.

Nice to find a jacket in this condition and published in a respected reference work.
