    About this item

An original British Khaki Drill Tunic which has been converted into a Scottish cutaway.

This tunic clearly started life as a Royal Marines Khaki Frock. The interior features typical RM stampings which bear the date of 1938. The tunic has clearly been retailored into a Scottish cutaway style, most likely for theatrical purposes. It has been carefully done and presents well.

Made from the standard tan khaki coloured cotton drill, the tunic features a full set of original kings crown brass general service buttons. Two pleated patch pockets are located at the chest and a stand collar is fitted to the neck which fastens with metal hook and eye fasteners. Epaulettes are fitted to the shoulders and feature stitched holes to through which shoulder titles can be fitted. Two extra holes have been cut in the epaulette to fit titles of a different size.

The tunic is a smaller size which will fit around a 36" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

    Chest - 19 1/2"
    Inside arm - 20"
    Outside arm - 25 3/4"
    Shoulders - 17"
    Length - 30"

The tunic is in good condition and displays well as can be seen in the pictures. It is a vintage item so may have small issues commensurate with age.

Whilst this has been converted it has been done well. It would look good displayed on a mannequin or could suit a re-enactor.
