    About this item

    An original US WW2 era Officer's uniform grouping.  Comprises Class A dress tunic, chocolate shirt, and one pair of 'chocolate' trousers.

    Tunic

    Tunic is in reasonably good condition, couple of small areas of mothing, not noticeable unless closely inspected, no rips/tears.  The label inside the pocket shows tailoring by Kuppenhemier, with the tunic being named to K. G. Hamm, alongside the number 656. Furnished with;

    1. A 3rd Air Force patch on the right shoulder,

    2. A 12th Air Force patch on the left shoulder, denoting earlier service with the 12th in the Mediterranean theater,

    3. A single Captain's bar, pin back, not Sterling marked,

    4. A pair of U.S. collar dogs, mostly flat back clutches, denoting wartime.

    5. A pair of 'winged prop' collar dogs, one by Meyer, one snowflake backed and marked Acid Test, flat back clutches throughout.`

    Measured by hand as follows;

    Pit to pit - 18.5 so around a 36 inch chest

    Shoulder seam to cuff - 23 inches

    Shoulder to shoulder - 18 inches

    Shirt

    The chocolate shirt is in similar good condition, no noticeable mothing or rips or tears, and collar is sound, as these are often prone to wear and tear. Couple of spots on the rear where moths have been, very small areas, most only visible when held up to the light, not holed at all. Felt backed Army Air Force patch with attractive stitching on the left shoulder. Tailored by Burdine's. Size marked 15-34, but measured by hand as follows;

    Pit to pit - 20.5 inches, so 38-40" chest

    Shoulder seam to cuff - 22.5 inches

    Shoulder to shoulder - 17.5 inches

    Chocolate Trousers

    Beautiful gabardine wool, good condition. One button missing on the rear pocket flaps and slight (c.5mm) tear on the edge of the watch pocket, where it meets the waistband, both very easy fixes. Very slight mothing between the legs, barely noticeable and not visible at all when trousers are worn.

    Marked on inside of pocket, X614 with the name Tissier.  X27 crossed out. 4872 visible on another part. Label shows Contract No. W669-qm-20609 with a date of August 11 1942 manufacture.  Size marked 31R but measured by hand;

    Waist - c.31 inches, room to let out by around 1 inch

    Inside Leg - 29.5 inches, room to let down by around 1.5 inches.
