    Original US Army, WW2 era, shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI).  The patch would have been worn on the shirts and jackets of US GIs who served in this unit.  Original period item, and constructed in a 'theatre made' style, but the exact origin of the patch is not known, but clearly somewhere in the Far East.
