    About this item

A scarce original 'Shirts Bush R.A.F.' in a size 3 and dated 1943.

This shirt is the specific RAF Issue shirt used in the Middle and Far East as well as in Italy. It is made from cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex' which is a lightweight breathable fabric, ideally suit to war weather climates. The shirt features short sleeves, a full button front, patch pockets to the chest and lower flapped pockets. As well as this it features Epaulettes and a set of butterscotch colouresd revloving shank buttons as sometimes found on this period of KD shirt.

Inside the shirt the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It states the shirt as being a large size 3 which will fit a 38" -40" chest and a 34" -46" waist. The manufactures name is stated as 'W M Sugden & Sons LTD' and both the 1943 date and the War Department broad arrow marking are also present. Above the label the War Department acceptance stamp is also present.

When laid flat the shirt measures -

    Chest - 23"
    Shoulders - 17 1/2"
    Length - 30 1/2"

The shirt is in great condition with no major signs of wear. It displays very well and appears to still be very wearable. It is a vintage item so may have small issues commensurate with age.

A rare shirt in fantastic condition. This would make an excellent addition to a collection or could well suited a re-enactor.
