About this item
Green khaki painted crown with lower rolled edge brim. The front of the helmet with period transfer Kings crown N.F.S badge with lower transfer "38" ( Wimbledon ) . A good earlier ghost paintwork shows as "Y86" possibly a London fire station .The shell is an early stamping as it shows ripples to the body .Inner brim stamped with maker and dated 1939 .White stenciled number .Black treated linen liner ,Early pattern oval rubber crown pad .The Mk 1 frame with Maker and date 1938 . Sprung webbing chinstrap with chamois covering added to the chin section . Old stitched repair by the buckle . Some minor service wear .
