About this item
An original pair of 1943 dated British Army Webbing Anklets in a good larger size 3.
This pattern of anklets was introduced in 1938 as part of the new 1937 pattern webbing equipment. These examples are a wartime pattern which could be termed as 'third pattern' as they were introduced following the previous two patterns which both had webbing straps. They are made from the standard webbing material used during WW2 and feature leather straps.
The inside of both gaiters bear the manufacturer's initials of 'J & A. H.' which denotes J. & A. Hillman as the maker. As well as this the 1943 date and the War Department broad arrow are also present. Adjacent is the numeral '3' which denotes the size.
The anklets are in good condition with only limited signs of age with some marks etc. They have not been blancoed and are still a fersh webbing colour but please study the pictures before purchasing.
Altogether a nice original pair of anklets with a good wartime date and in a harder to find large size.
