About this item
This a rare mess dress tunic and waistcoat of a Lt Colonel D.G.P.M and we think the surname is Shewel (handwriting is hard to read ) from Indian Army 15th Punjab Reg. A short lived regiment.
Nice tailors label inside and it was made in India when he was a Captain in 1925, just about the time the regiment was formed, The 15th Punjabis were formed in 1922, and were organized into 5 battalions
The regiment was formed in 1922 till 1947 when after partition it came under the comand of the Pakistani Army until 1956 when it was disbanded.
There is a second label from the same tailor in the waistcoat inside the left hand waistcoat strap.
In very good condition with no sign of moth, or deterioration of the lining
