    Correctly named 39929 Pte A Wright Essex R

    Arthur Thomas was born to Herbert and Mary in 1890 in Essex.

    We find the family in 1901 living at 31 Coleman Street in Prittlewell, Essex. By 1911, that had all moved to 11 St Anns Road in Prittlewell, Essex.

    He married Florence Louisa Garrard in 1913.

    A bootmaker by profession, Arthur enlisted in December 1915. He served with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force from October 1917. He served in Salonica. 

    He held the service number 39745 with the Suffolk Regiment.

    He was discharged in September 1919 with the Silver War Badge numbered B307418 (not present).

    He suffered from malaria and shellshock.

    His address on discharge is noted as 27 Malden Road, Southend on Sea, he was to resume his occupation as a bootmaker.

    Arthur died in 1925.

    The medals have original silk ribbons.
