Correctly named 3-8156 Pte RF Wilsea Norf R
Robert Frank Wilsea was born to William and Ruth in 1894, Norfolk.
We find the family in 1911 living at 165 Oak Street, Norwich and Robert is working as a grocers porter.
A Norfolk Regiment man through and through, he served with the 1st, 7th, 8th and 9th Battalions.
He landed in France in May 1915 earning himself a 1915 Star Trio.
He married Edith Howard in 1919.
He was discharged from service in 1920 and gives the address 262 Heigham Street, Norfolk.
In 1921, he is recorded as living at 125 Old Palace Road, Norwich and working now as a boot and shoe manufacturer for Edwards & Holmer Boot & Shoe.
In 1939, records show him to be living at 123 Old Palace Road and is still working in the shoe industry as a boot foreman/examiner.
Robert died in 1944.
The medal has a lovely faded, original silk ribbon.
