Correctly named 7376 Pte A Sherriff Leic R
Arthur served with the 2/5th, 1/4th and 7th Battalions of the Leicester Regiment and also held to service number 24232 with them.
He is entitled to a Pair.
We find a wound report for him dated June 1918 but no further remarks we can add.
We do also find that he was reported to Casualty Clearing Station Number 3 on the 1st of October 1918. We know from that he was serving with the 7th Battalion. Also, it tells us he was treated for a gunshot wound, a flesh wound upon the upper extremities of his body.
We know that the 7th Battalion were fighting on the Hindenburg Line at St Quentin Canal as part of the 100 Day Offensive.
Records let us know he was from Leicester.
The medal has an original silk ribbon.
