About this item
An original WW2 British Army MKII Haversack for the lightweight respirator along with an original 1944 dated respirator with filter.
This pattern lightweight respirator was introduced in 1943. The bag is made from a dark green cotton canvas which has good waterproof qualities and features a webbing tab to close it. Side pockets are also present and fasten with press studs whilst another pocket can be found inside the bag. The original string is still present as are the manufacturers stamps to the underside of the flap. The date stamp is not legible but the maker's stamp is and denotes 'Waring & Gillows' as the manufacturer. The strap also features the maker's stamp and date.
An original mask is also present and bears a clear 1944 date to one side. It also bears the Dutch 'CF' stamp in red. The filter is an original Dutch example with a 1950s date.
The condition of the items is good with only limited signs of wear and use.
A nice original wartime example which would make a great addition to any collection.
