Authentic Edo Era Circa 1750 Japanese Samurai Armour Ni-mai Dou Gusoku

For sale is one authentic circa 1750 Edo era set of Japanese samurai armour made in the kuro-urushi nuri yokohagi ni-mai dou style, or a black lacquer finsihed hoziontal plate two-section curiass style. The kabuto helmet, sode shoudler guards, menpo facial armour and dou are all clearly original to each other as do the extremity armour items. The kabuto has been made in the classic 16 ken suji bachi style, or ribbed 16 plate style.

Original liner in very good shape, though a replacement helmet cord. Menpo is a very decent example of an agressive face style ressei men. All lacquer and lacing original and non-restored. Only restoration appears to ahve been to the facing materials of the extremity armour items (sangu) with the fabric having been professionally changed at some point on the kote sleeves, haidate thigh protector and suneate shin guards. The gessan pendants are made of  nerigawa or rawhide as was common. The lacquer has chipped and flacked off on some of the individual lames of these, which has caused a couple fo them to warp as can only be expected with items of this age. Comes wiht a period hitsu armoru storage case, whcih has areas of insect damge to the lid, though the case remains solid. Feel free to ask questions. Everything on this armour is original other than for the helmet crest which is clearly modern, though overall historically correct in overall apperance.
