    About this item

For sale is Post WW2 10th (The Prince of Wales Own Royal) Hussars Pouch and Belt Featuring Queen Elizabeth II’s Royal Cypher. The belt and pouch comes with its original box which is named to C R Dawnay. The belt and pouch is in superb condition, and still holds the original gilt finish. The only issue with the belt is that the inside fabric liner has come loose in one place on the belt (this can be seen in the photos for more details).

Christopher Ronald Dawnay was born on the 25th of March in 1933. He was the son of Frederick Cecil Dawnay and Margaret Jean Hutton.   He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, Englands. He was then educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England.    In 1953 he was a junior under officer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. During this year he was awarded a 1953 coronation medal.    On the 31st of July 1955 whilst serving with the royal armoured corps, 10th Royal Lancers (Prince Of Wales's Own) Christopher was promoted to lieutenant.    He later gained the rank of Captain in the 10th Royal Hussars (PWO.)    Up until the early 2000s he lived at 19 Asher Drive, Mill Ride, Ascot, Berkshire, England.   He died peacefully in hospital on 28th December 2008, aged 75 years, after a lengthy illness.   Accompanying this belt and pouch is 5 scans of his service records. Upon payment please let me know if you would prefer digital scans or printed copies. This is a superb piece, in excellent condition and to a great regiment.    This will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery and dispatched within two working days.
