About this item
Featuring 28 ½" curved single-edged blade with broad full-length fuller; the upper third with
gold-filled engravings depicting a mounted hussar with saber and other various decorations.
Brass stirrup hilt with single scroll quillon and long, narrow double langets; the knuckle bow
joining the capstan pommel, with integral backstrap. Wood grip with leather cover and
strands of alternating twisted and straight brass wire wrap. No Scabbard. From a large
European collection of French Napoleonic era firearms and edged weapons. Very good
condition, the metal cleaned, as is typical of European collections. Engravings quite clear
and retain most of the gold filling. Overall length 33 3/4".
