    About this item

An original British Army 1937 pattern Signals Satchel dating from the Second World War.

This pattern of bag was introduced for use with various signals equipment and was used throughout the Second World War. It is made from the standard khaki coloured webbing and features a strap also made in this material. The bag fastens with a brass ended tab and brass twig buckle and features an internal divider.

The original maker's name can still be seen to the interior and reads 'M. W. & S. Ltd' which stands for Michael Wright & Sons. Next to this is the date which is very hard to read but appears to be 1943. The strap also features matching markings meaning it is almost certainly original to the bag.

The overall condition is good with some staining and limited signs of age and use.

A good original example which would make a nice addition to your collection!
