About this item
A good Remington made American Model 1917 bayonet.
This is the American made version for thier US Model 1917 rifle and will also fit the British Enfield P14.
This bayonet is in good untouched condition. It could do with a gentle clean. The blade is in good condition, with undamaged edge and point.
Marked with the model year "1917" at the ricasso, along with the makers stamp within a circle for Remington.
The other side showing the 'flaming bomb' ordinance markings. It is also marked US.
The scabbard has its original green finish to the leather, and is maker stamped "Jewell" and dated 1918.
It is fitted with a British Leather frog, which is broad arrow marked, and carries a diamond shaped makers marking. This denotes issue to the Home Guard during WW2.
