About this item
A scarce double maker marked example of the German 1898/05 "Butcher" Bayonet, dated 1917.
This second type with scarce double makers markings of "Schubert u. Salzer, Maschinenfabrik Chemnitz" and on the other ricasso "Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen, Foche".
Dated "17" on the spine with imperial inspection markings. Further inspection markings on the pommel, and the scabbard.
Housed in its original scabbard with worn black paint.
Untouched condition, old dried storage grease and grime to the blade, light rust to the hilt and crossguard. Generally very good condition.
