About this item
An 1888 Pattern Lee Metford Bayonet.
This example is marked to the pommel "M. York RGA" for the York Royal Garrison Artillery Militia.
The other side of the pommel is marked with back to back broad arrows, showing it was sold out of service.
A plethora of markings to the ricasso, showing manufacture by Wilkinson, as well as various dates, bend test marking, etc.
The blade in good, bright condition, and has been service sharpened. It does have some light staining, and old corrosion.
Housed in its original steel mounted leather scabbard, with stamped markings to the rear. Solid condition, but would benefit from a gentle feed and polish.
Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched. Please send this at the time of ordering, to prevent unnecessary delay in your order being dispatched.
