    About this item

An unusual Victorian British ordinance bayonet, which appears to have been modified to fit another gun.

I beleive this started life as a yataghan bayonet, although it bears date marks for 1885. The blade has been cut down to a handy 18 inches, and the scabbard modified to fit (very skillfully).

The mortice and muzzle ring have also been modified.

    Overall length 23 inches.

I've not encountered anything similar before, and I've no idea if it is some great Victorian rarity, or a protoype or conversion, so if anybody has any additional information I would be most interested to hear it.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
