About this item
The Scots Fusilier Guards (Later Scots Guards) Crimean War period Officers Shoulder Belt Plate (Circa 1844-1855). A seeded gilt backplate with burnished edge. On this, in silver, the star of the Order of the Thistle over a silver slip backing - to the centre a gilt round circlet “Nemo Me Impune Lacessit” and to the centre a 2-leaf thistle over an immaculate translucent green enamel background. Original leather backing. Just Superb.
This is a stunning and historically significant piece! The combination of gilt, silver, and the translucent green enamel make it a truly striking shoulder belt plate. The design reflects the proud heritage of the Scots Fusilier Guards (later Scots Guards), particularly with the Order of the Thistle star and the famous regimental motto "Nemo Me Impune Lacessit" ("No one provokes me with impunity").
