NSDAP Political leaders belt

An NSDAP Political Leader’s Belt and Buckle (Politische Leiter Koppelschloß und Feldbinde) is a standard piece of regulated uniform equipment worn by members of the Nazi Party hierarchy from the local block level up to the national leadership.

The Buckle: circular in design, stamped from lightweight aluminum, and finished with a gold wash or gilt plating.

Obverse Motif: Features a traditional political-style spread-winged Nazi eagle clutching a mobile swastika inside a circular oak-leaf wreath. The tips of the eagle's wings generally overlap or extend directly into the outer wreath border.

Reverse & Hardware: Designed with a concave back featuring a standard prong catch and a matching dual-claw or rectangular loop keeper bar (often stamped with complementary maker marks).

RZM Markings: Genuine period pieces almost universally bear official Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) manufacturing codes stamped into the metal on the reverse (such as "RZM M4/24" or similar numerical codes designating authorized metalware contractors).

The Belt Strap: Composed of high-grade brown leather designed specifically for political leaders, often complete with a matching leather keeper loop and metal adjustment claw hooks.

Historical Function:  Introduced and standardized through various uniform ordinances during the Third Reich era (particularly formalized around 1939), these belts and buckles were worn during official functions, rallies, and daily administrative duties to visually signify the wearer's rank, authority, and bureaucratic status within the party infrastructure.
