About this item
An original United States Army OG-107 jacket and trousers set which belonged to a Second Lieutenant of the US Airborne Special Forces signal branch.
The set dates from the early 1970s and appears to have been worn together. The trousers are dated 1972 although the jacket has no clear date but is from the same period. This pattern was introduced in 1952 and stayed in service until 1981and is made from 8.5oz. carded cotton sateen in the new Army standard OG-107 colour. The jacket is fitted with original subdued cloth insignia which is a mixture of in-country made and US made items. The US Army patch, Special Forces patch and the Airborne patch are all US made examples whilst the 2nd Lt captains bar and Signal branch collar badges are in country made and fitted with a light coloured stitching. The jump wings are also fitted with this light coloured stitching. There is also a name tape which bears the original owners name 'Rhodes'. The size tag is present to the neck but has been washed out and there is a second label to the inside of the tail.
The trousers are made from the same cotton sateen and feature large front pockets and belt loops around the waist. The fly fastens with buttons whilst the rear features two patch pockets which fasten which also fasten with a button. Inside the original label is still present and bears the title 'Trousers, Utility, Cotton Sateen, OG - 107,'. After this is the DSA number which dates the trousers to 1972. The size is marked as 34x31 and the maker's name of 'Glenn Berry MFRS' is also present.
The jacket will suit a 36" chest and the trousers a 32" waist. When laid flat they measure -
Chest - 20 1/2"

The set is in good condition with some signs of wear and use. There are no major flaws or issues and it displays very well and is still totally wearable. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn set which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A very nice original Special Forces uniform with some great badges.
