About this item
An original British Army 1937 pattern webbing belt dating from the Second World War.
This pattern of webbing belt came into issue with the British Army in 1938 and saw use throughout the Second World War. This example is Indian made as is evident by the construction to the reverse of the belt. Unlike the British made version these are stitched and it therefore guarentees this as a wartime example as production stopped at the end of WW2.
This example features all brass hardware so is suitable for any period of WW2. It has been blancod a pleasing buff shade of blanco which was a common colour used during the Second World War. The blanco applied is the powder form used in the conflict and not a later oil based version or similar. The rear buckles have been removed which was commonly done for best 'walking out' belts.
The belt will fit a variety of waist sizes due to the fact that it is adjustable. When fully extended it measures 40" so should be a good fit for someone of a 32-36" waist potentially.
The belt is in good, used condition and displays well.
Whilst not dated, this is a guaranteed original wartime belt.
This is a vintage item which is 'sold as seen'
