About this item
A scarce and highly collectible original First World War 1914 Pattern leather belt, clearly stamped “15 LON 275”, identifying it to the 15th London Regiment – Prince of Wales’s Own Civil Service Rifles.
The belt is also maker marked to John Taylor ????? & Co. Ltd and dated 1916, confirming wartime manufacture. It retains its original brass fittings and honest service character, with an untouched patina to the leather throughout.
It measures approximately 36 inches as currently set, with plenty of adjustment remaining to accommodate a larger size.
The 15th London Regiment (Civil Service Rifles) was part of the Territorial Force formed in 1908 and saw extensive service during the First World War, taking part in major campaigns and suffering significant losses. Unit-marked equipment such as this provides a direct and tangible link to one of London’s most distinctive volunteer battalions.
A genuinely desirable and increasingly hard-to-find unit-identified WW1 leather belt, ideal for collectors of London Regiment, or Territorial Force equipment.
Weight: 630g
